The Dwarves are a sturdy people, sound in both body and mind. Their meticulous handiwork, patience and determination make them amongst the best craftsmen and formidable fighters in the world. Most Dwarves live in the fortress keep of Gralthar, a trade city nestling deep in the mountains of the northwest continent. Protected by mighty stone walls, the product of fine dwarven architecture and solid building techniques, the city was an obvious choice for the base from which the Dwarves held back the Hakarren Empire, which overran many of the southern Dwarf cities during its height. In ancient times, these now abandoned and destroyed cities formed the Holy Dwarven Empire, and even now the people of Gralthar are a spiritual people, attributing their unsurpassed skills to the blessings of the gods.
