Leonassan's History

Leonassan was born on the second day of the 6th week of newmoon, 1543 years after the fall of the great Hakarren Empire to Greld and Raenaa BattleBlade. Greld was a shield dwarf in the armies of Gralthar fought in the holy wars where Astarot was forced to take a mortal form, he received the highest honors for his valiant service to the crown. In that battle he lost his right eye and forever walked with a limp. Raenaa was a beautiful dwarven lass who ran one of the most successful clothing shops in all of Gralthar. In the late summer of 1550, Greld, Raenaa and Leonassan were on a ship leaving the docks of Vagla on a voyage to Karinthia to visit some friends that were living there when a rouge group of pirates boarded their ship. Greld fought valiantly but was finally slain when a pirate blade hit a weak point in his armor, piercing his heart and killing him instantly. It is forever burned into Leonassan’s mind what happened to his poor mother who, after being repeatedly raped by the pirates, was stabbed and thrown overboard to the sharks. In their lust the pirates failed to notice the young dwarven boy slipping across the plank between the ships and hiding among their supplies. One night several days later, the pirates came to shore to raid one outlying dwarven settlement, and Leonassan snuck away during the brutal fighting that ensued, finally finding his way back to Gralthar. He was too shaken by the events to remember his name or what had happened until many years later, and to this day does not remember the faces of the pirates who stole his parents from him. He grew up strong and straight under the guidance of the Softstone family and at the tender age of twenty, left home to begin his training at the academy. He knew in his heart that he wanted to become a craftsman, vowing that no armor he made would fail its owner in the heat of battle. Shortly after graduating the Academy, Leonassan joined the Artisan’s guild. He has occasionally strayed from his goal of becoming the finest smith the land has ever seen but his adoptive family, the Ironfists, have helped keep his course true. After many years of study he became one of the most skilled craftsmen in the realms and remains so to this day. After a while, Leonassan found his way into the Seekers of Harmony, following the Goddess Aurora. Leonassan didn’t enjoy fighting and saw no need for it, though on a daily basis he took the raw metals mined and refined in his hometown and shaped them into the weapons of war, he never himself felt the need to kill. After many years he found his way into the priesthood of Aurora, attaining the high rank of Confessor until Aurora found him conversing with an enemy of her order and struck him to the rank of pacifist once more. During his stay in Aurora’s order, Leonassan married Juuhachi and had a son, Endrin Ironfist. He also built one of the largest homes in the realms to keep his family warm and comfortable through the harshest winters in Gralthar. He also built it to keep his wealth and resources safe through any war. Leonassan then did a lot of soul searching and realized that the Seekers of Harmony were no longer seeking harmony but instead were seeking power, and left the order. He then left the known lands of Elysium, spending a lot of time sitting on unknown shores and cliff faces, trying to come to terms with his shattered life. While he was gone his home was robbed repeatedly despite the valiant efforts of the ministers and emperor of Gralthar. Finally, at the age of 36, Leonassan came back to the realms. His son is older now, and resents his father not being around for him and Juuhachi during the difficult times that had gone past, and he had lost everything he held dear. Leonassan, no stranger to hardship, still perseveres and has begun piecing together the shards of his former life once again.
