Fishing

Fishing is a much loved sport in Elysium. There are quests that utilize this skill within the game.

If you decide to become a fisherman, you can get paid a wage for selling your fish at the tradesman of a local city that is buying fish.

You can also take your fish to the fishmongers to have it prepared for you to eat. You may be required to ask the owner of the fishmongers for access to the industry.

There are several ways in Elysium to start your career as a fisherman.

  • Fishing rod - You may find yourself a fishing rod and begin fishing at any water source, however you will need a bait tin to keep with you for your bait.
  • Deep sea fishing with net - You may fish from any boat using a large net.
  • Deep sea fishing with rod - You may fish from the deck of a ship using a fishing rod.

Net Fishing

  1. You must pull your boat out of the dock and find a good place to fish, preferably not in the shipping lane.
  2. You must lower your anchor.
  3. You must use your net to fish by having it in your hand and typing the command 'fish'.
  4. When you are done fishing you must bring in your catch before sailing again or you will lose it.

You will be told how much fish you have in the net after you are done:

You pull the net in by the rope, and drag your catch aboard.

Unravelling the net you find you have caught enough fish for 8 barrels full!

After you are done it is strongly recommended that you take the fish directly to the place you would like to sell or process it immediately. If you leave the fish sit for to long they may rot away.

Trawler fishing:

Using a trawler to fish is one of the most effective ways to fish in Elysium. You can use your trawler to travel and fish at the same time. This does not require a command as your nets are already out to sea when you pull out of dock. The further you travel the more fish you will see in your fishing nets.

When you come back to port you may retrieve catch and sell your fish or take it to the local fishmonger.

You may also choose to keep your nets in the water until they are completely full before you retrieve your catch. They will hold 250 barrels of fish.
